Passive House

Passive House is an international building system that aims to reduce operational energy and GHG emissions to the lowest levels possible while providing the most comfort to occupants.

Designers and builders trained in Passive House methodology follow five fundamental principles in creating high performance building envelopes and energy use reduction.

The Five Principles are:

  • Super insulated continuously around the entire building
  • Air tight with no leaks or perforations in the air barrier(s)
  • No thermal bridges
  • Certified PH Windows and Doors
  • Properly sized ventilation with heat recovery
